Subject: RE: Anyone ever use a roto grind tub grinder?

Northern Indiana
Had a 760 and ran about 5000bales through it. Anything from hay, straw, a lot of cornstalks and soybean straw. Wasn't worth much when we got done, but it was priced right when we bought it. Only only repairs were welding patches in the band where it wore through. Then bought a RotoGrind 1090 to replace it. We've ran 3500 bales through it and are still on the first of 4 sides of the hammers, one patch on the band. They work great for frozen and dry bales, but as someone said, plug a LOT in wet stuff. Put 200 horse power on it and it will grind! We fought conventional tub grinders for years, and these are nice for their simplicity. It does scare me about the 60# chunk of rotor flying out though.
