If the 2388 has a chopper I'd say no. But it wouldnt hurt to keep them around a year just in case you change your mind into needing them. Like the above poster said, you also need rice spike rasp bars in conjunction with the disrupters with a speciality or AFX rotor.

I put a set in a customers 2388 speciality a few years back as I convinced him he needed them. I got a set of spike rasp bars from an Anonyomus (sp.) disrupter dealer and long story short he dropped shipped them from Shoup to me (I was led to believe that he mfg. them) Customer ran something through his machine (rock or debris or something) and the spike bars all exploded. They were very brittle. It was an emergency in the middle of harvest so I took the disrupters and broken spike bars out and put the old non-spiked bars that I had saved, back in. We haven't changed anything since and everything has been working acceptable without them.
