Nebraska | We are in similar position northeast of you in NE, one smaller barn about 40 minutes west and a larger one 20 minutes north. The larger barn is always having nice sales and where we have sold our best. We had 2 pastures with steers on them about 4 years ago. Steers were all yearlings out of same group. We sold at the smaller barn Friday and big barn Saturday, and we got $8/hundred more at big barn vs. small barn. But we were only group of 900# steers at small barn and with only 20 head, nobody could group together a potload of them. We still sell at both barns, but interesting how it works. | |
