Dane County WI
Always remember as a kid (grade school years) riding in the corn wagons (first wooden then powered decker wagons) as dad picked corn. Don't remember the first one row pull type pickers he had but do remember the mounted ones I believe was a 2MH and then bought a 234. I do remember it was much easier putting the 234 on than the 2MH. Riding in the wagon was fun and remember husking ears that didn't get husked and throwing it over the side. Sometimes you would get chunks of frozen dirt if the corn was down. You learned in a hurry to watch out for the elevator when he turned on the ends. When I was old enough to drive the picker, I usually enjoyed it, but thinking back it seemed like it was always either too hot or too cold. years went by and one day was able to drive a friends 1460 combine.Driving that mounted picker was never as much fun after that.
