Driftless SW Wisconsin

even skittish calves will follow mama into the corral if I circle around back.  One thing to remember is to put cattle panels or something behind the fenceline bunks or those very flexible calves will go in the bunk and out the back.

I also used scrap 1/4" plywood to "sheet" all outside gates and the panels back of the bunk. They stay much calmer if they can't see out side. painted the plywood with off white house paint and it seems to be holding up well enough drilled holes in it and wired to gates.

Sure need to look at thin gs carefully whe  you are working cattle alone most of the time.  I weigh mine frequently. training them to come in without a rodeo helps along with having them line up themselves to go into the tub and alley. Sometimes get too many in the tub and have to chase them out rather than in. Glad to hear I'm not the only one working alone much of the time.
