East central SD
Soymeal is bought through a crushing plant and contracted on a per month basis as needed, booked when you think price is right as it follows meal trade of CBOT. Switched to soymeal this year due to ddg getting to pricey, they wanted to dry it and ship overseas for more profit. We use a liquid protein, or some call it a balancer I believe, and that is usually booked in fall on their booking days at a decent discount. Dont switch protein suppliers as that was tried once, didnt work out the best. One local feed company here where product is made and they have a pretty good lock on the mineral, protein and as you called it micro's in this area. They are a good solid company also.

EDIT Everything is bought in bulk or semi load lots
