I'd agree. And not known to be the most reliable series of tractors around.

Don't have another tractor you could run the cart on that's not used during harvest? Or trade another tractor you use and use the money to trade up to a newer one that can pull the cart as well?

Very rarely ever hear any one talk well about that series of tractor. We had them when I was a kid but the key was that dad traded almost every year.

Well if it was a 4690 I would say RUN. The 4490 wasn't bad but the 4890 is a pretty decent machine. I have a 2870 (most the same as a 4890) and the engine was done at about 8k hours and the tranny about 200 hours later. Tranny didn't need it but I did it for longevity! The Scania pulls real nice and is very easy on fuel. The tractor is a tad light for the horsepower but the new tires are a bit of a bonus. I would like a wee bit more rubber but that's me. Its a great PTO tractor but as a pulling tractor it needs more #s! At $26k its pricey - - in western Canada I would be looking in the $12k to 17k (top would have to be very nice) for price.
