1,232 lbs this week (44% hiefers ), 1,243 last week ( 38% hiefers ), 1,244 lbs last year ( 37% hiefers ).
The board almost always lags cash here by $2 to $5 cwt.
Alot of folks ( perhaps the majority ) do not use the board.
Keep in mind, quite a few Midwest fats are hauled and harvested at plants down here.
( btw, SW area data is seperate from the Midwest data )
As in most good cattle markets you may note the board is still basically behind cash this week, ie Fri closes..
No sense in forwarding cattle into a lower board market later.
IA in particular sends quite a few to Dodge C and Liberal.
Naturals from the N generally hauled / harvested at Ft Morgan.
