New Mexico | N is all natural heavies ( Neb top choice cash w open top in the beef @ 18 to $20 in the beef over tradits ie 222 to 225 today ).
TX Panhandle:
S is all cash. $129 so far ( + another $1.50 formula NO shrink this week ).
S may move more at dark in the 130 to 1 + the formula range we'll see.
Packers basically bled the deal out the past 3 weeks previous SO are extremely short bought, AND they're short carry too now.
Showed out a set of big feeder cattle we have on hand yesterday priced em @ 134, they weigh 1,075, to 1,100 my bet is they're sold after this week's run. ie 110 head steers / hiefers.
No shrink, just weigh em and feed out in the same pens.
Partner em or sell em or keep em, I can make any combo work there.
Showed out the other bigger set too, weigh 800 to 850, priced em out @ 158 to 160 yesterday, my bet is they'll stick around till the end of next week. 105 of em, FANCY steers/ hiefers.
Backgrounding always beats feeding em out, MO.
AND backgrounding on summer grass ot winter grass is better than a darn feedlot too.
Keep in mind I LOVE cows, granted light calves on grass ok too.
That darn feeding...jeez, God just made cattle to eat out naturally. | |
