Subject: RE: implement switch

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.

Using alternate "cheap" implement switches would probably be fine for a tillage situation since if they should fail it isn't very critical.  The tillage would still be done but the map might be incorrect.

I would spend the extra money to get a "good" implement switch for planting and application situations. There are many options.  For planters, we often use two button switches on the parallel arms wired in parallel.

We have had a few complaints about the parallel arm switches.  This often comes about with an air bag system that applies so much pressure that the planter frame is actually raised up and the buttons no longer make contact.  A frame switch may be a good choice in these situations.
