Cant speak for closed cell, but do know for a fact open cell will not burn...... I didn't believe the contractors that it would not burn, they were right, it melted when my hand held propane torch hit it, but did not flame, and quit when pulled away. I hauled the scraps to the landfill.
Same with closed cell foam . .. .. if flame is taken away, it goes out. It does flame up when you hold the torch to it, but take torch away and it goes out.
