That's what I did. The main pump from boiler runs all the time. Each zone pump runs only when needed. I just used line voltage (120 volt) thermostats to turn the zone pumps on and off based on air temp. Maybe not the best but cheap and effective.
Anybody got a picture of their radiant heat manifold and controls?
