Another poster mentioned this, but I don't know if you picked up on it as well... The way this option is set up, it is intended that you set your "A" point and start driving your headland. As you drive the long side of your field, you then get to establish the "interior" A-B line for guidance later on when you go back and forth. Maybe whats going on is if you don't do this, it leaves the cycle "incomplete" and somehow decides to not let you autosteer the other headland circuits.

Caution, thread hijack...

IF TRIMBLE IS LISTENING? I find it pretty darn annoying that a Straight A-B is the only interior pattern option available for this Headland feature. If I have a field which is essentially a big curve, I end up with a useless straight guidance line in the process of doing the headland option. An "Identical Curve" option for the interior guidance lines would be quite useful for those who don't farm 40+ acre square fields.
