Subject: Actually

According to the Jan-Feb 2008 issue of Two Cylinder Magazine which has all the new generation production details, there were 100 serial numbers allocated to 8010, but the serial number register has not been found. The Waterloo production log confirms 100 were built from June 1960 through March 1961. And in that time roughly 21,000 4010 were built.

Then in 1963 the 8010 were recalled because of transmission overheating and 77 were rebuilt as 8020, the other 23 were not accounted for.

Why so few? was it the selling price or the large size?

Still 100 or 20 is still a tiny number produced compared to 280,000 4010 and 4020.
