| Still use my dad's 1965 powershift everyday. Right now it's on TMR wagon duty, but it also hays, plows terraces and does lots of other things. It's our small tractor but is very useful. Don't know how many hours for sure on our 4020, but dad worked it hard, and when the JD mechanic had the tractor apart for a PTO brake, he said the inside yellow paint looked new! I sometimes cannot believe how advanced that tractor is for it's age. IMO it's powershift is great, the steering and brakes are excellent, it's very nimble and a great looking tractor. I don't like the 24 volt system but ours is twelve now. I'm also proud to own a JD 4440, another popular tractor, that gets used all the time. I think I'd be set for chores and hay if I had 2 4020's and 2 4440's. I may also note, both of these tractors hold resale value like crazy. I'd probably buy a new 4020 if they still made them. | |
