I've spent many hrs on both JD 4020 and IH 806. Still love the 806, couldn't pay me enough to drive a 4020. An 806 will do more work on less fuel, I've seen it. IMO, just as reliable. What's up with the 4020 gear pattern, hyd and 3 point levers on left on the dash?
I started driving 2010-4010 when I was in 8th grade, the synchro range is one on of the easiest transmissions to shift that I've ever driven, all synchronized, etc. 1-3 reverse, 2-5 reverse, 4-7, and 6-8, what is so tough about that? I've driven 706 and 806, and we owned a 1066 for many years, they had brute tough engines, but the transmissions were noisy and mean to shift IMHO. |
