Subject: RE: NO Till Coulter Blades

Between the coulter cart on my no-till drill and my planter I've had bubble, 13 wave, 25 wave, and turbo coulters. Nothing wrong with the bubble except the real or imagined sidewall compaction. 13 wave worked a wider area but may not penetrate as well in hard soil. 25 wave worked a smaller area and were better in hard soil. My favorite are the Great Plains turbo coulters. They penetrate well and don't throw as much soil at higher speeds. They really shine no-tilling soybeans into wheat straw. All the other coulters would hairpin tough straw into the slot while the turbo coulters will cut it.
