Eastern Ontario | I don't know the answer to your question, but here in Canada we have been using the new Chip and Pin technology also known as Smart Card. You no longer have to sign anything. Just insert your card and enter your Pin. This sytem has been integrated into both Credit and Debit cards. I like it. It's very easy. It sounds like this hasn't been adopted yet south of the border.
