I'm not real sure if you need any coulters. Ed Winkle convinced me to remove them from my 1750 corn planter. We planted all of our beans with our 1750 last year w/o coulters and got along OK.

In 2010 we planted half of the beans with the 7000 and SI splitter and 13 wave coulter. The other half were planted with the 1750 with no coulters. Couldn't see any yield advantage in either situation.

If you do use coulters I would not recommend the bubbles. We ran them for years and finally realized we were getting sidewall smearing in fine sandy loam soils in good planting conditions.

I like the looks of your splitter. It's definitely got some improvements over ours. Bernie
