Subject: RE: Finding it...

Remsen, IA
Stalks are turning black and fall over when you touch them. I see ears on the ground this morning too. I've been looking for a grain cart to get the corn mudded out but they are proving hard to find. My home place had no measurable rain from May 5 till the first week of August and now it won't stop raining. Every year seems to get more difficult. Just glad the beans are done, my brother in law only has 30 acres done out of 400 in north central Iowa.

I was hauling to Hinton when I got shut down. I took a sample in from some corn on a different farm that was yielding over 200 and looks fine and that came back right at 20 ppm. ISU says to get the corn dried to under 15% within 24 hours of harvest. That isn't a problem for me but all these guys trying to natural air dry in this weather could have a train wreck.
