Bethany, MO | My '00 went 285K and an alternator was the big repair. The '05 went 265K on a trans and 2 transfer case issues (~$4,000). The Ford has more power and I LOVE the manual part of the transmission. Our last Ford was bought in '80 for the body (SuperCab not available from GM) and was gotten rid of in '81 because of the drivetrain (NO POWER! An automatic would have lasted FOREVER!) This one is just the opposite. I like the drivetrain but not excited about the body. I'll have a better idea in 3-4 years as to whether I change my handle. This one was because of the bailouts. | |
