![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=16365&type=profile&rnd=851) Western/Central Oregon | Tracks I've found seem to last longer IF you limit the amount of roading you do with it. Re-treads vary in the cost depending on the width of the belt, but they are roughly 1/2 of new. New 18" belts run about $8,000 ea for Goodyears a few yrs ago. IMO if buying belts (or having them retreaded for that matter) I would only do Camoplasts. They seem to be the best belts long term. The wider the belt, the better the deal vs. new on the re-treads. I just had some 18" done for ~4700 ea. Drivers are ~2750/side, Front Idlers are ~400 each (so 2/side) and boogies are 200 ea. from D&S tire. When you start getting into replacing undercarriage parts things can add up pretty fast. The question you have to ask yourself if the benefits of tracks in your situation offset the additional cost. For us, re-treads last ~3k hrs. Hope this helps | |
