Subject: salt, she aint your friend

#1, road salt and calcium chloride solutions are nasty nasty on shiney surfaces and steel, at least in our section of the world. It needs to be washed every 5 to 7 days (everyday if i had my way) if you want to stay polished and new looking. #2 some of the stuff we haul will stain the sheeting on the dump trailers if not washed frequently. If you could care less about appearence then a wash bay or dedicated area would not be for you. If you are a neat freak then it's super important. The trailer in the pic would look ten years old(now 4) after 1 winter here if not washed frequently. Wet distillers will tend to stain if splashes are left on too long also.
