This is intended to show up as a reply to a post by 1586 concerning Delvac MX.

Last purchase of oil here was Delvac 1300 Super 15W-40, mostly in mid 2011 for around $10/gallon, pkg sizes 55 drum, 5 gal pail (with rebate), some gallon jugs.

All the machines it went into ran fine, no problems. Previous oil purchased from CaseIH. No complaints with that product, changed on basis of recommendations from other oil users.

Same oil was purchased for township grader, recent sample page attached. Problems getting page attached to post prevented timely posting. The latest sample on the page was Delvac 1300 Super 15W40, all others came from Caterpillar 15W40 oil. Note that first sample was on new machine and oil was not changed. One oil change was done during lease by previous operator with no sample submitted, an apparent gap between samples 1 and 2.

This is not an attempt to recommend and/or sell any brand of product. The attached sample page is intended to show some numerical criteria which may be informative for certain people. I would point out the test information for the 500 hour drain interval does uphold manufacturer recommendations for that length of service.
