Central Wisconsin
I am in sand. I top dress 0-0-60 on to growing crops. Water it in with irrigation.. I will see it in plant samples in a couple week . I always read on nat about apply potash 1 year before so it is avaiable. I don't get this. 0-0-60 is very water soluable. Put some in a bucket. Put in a little water and melts. Spread it on top 2 - .4 inch rains and its gone. Now its in the soil solution it is ready to be used. I have ask Carry L. from U of WI about this. Ask her the same question how long does it take to be available. She said they have looked at the on sand like I farm. Said that once it mild she thought it would be available and on plainfield sand the soil test levels spike right after application and that 6 week later it was back down again. Leaches that fast in sand.
