Subject: RE: Alternative to Deere's Plus50 oil

I still use JD engine and hydraulic oils. I'd switch engine oil based on price much quicker than hydraulic oil but don't tell Deere that. I load my empty or almost empty drums on my pickup and take them to the dealer for fill up out of their bulk oil tank at the bulk oil price. JD bulk oil on sale is fairly competitive in price to any other quality oil. What's expensive is if you must have a new JD drum or bucket each time. I've used Mobil and now have a Sam's Club drum of Rotella for my Deutz irrigation motor that burns oil and the old trucks that get more time than mileage.
