The +50 isn't quite as painful if you buy it in bulk. Noticed on a bill the other day it is 12.60 thataway. So if you truly can run it 50% longer, then it's probably cheaper. We consistently run it 3-400 hours on the ag tractors, send in the oil analysis, and it's still well within specs. But perhaps some other brand would come back the same way. Have always had a hard time digesting how there can be much difference in any of the oils if they all have the same rating.
