Texas/New Mexico Stateline | I can't stand going to auctions where they repeatedly call for bids 200% or 150% of what they know good and well it will bring. Next worst is everybody standing around with their hands in their pockets waiting for the call to get to 50% of value then have to work it back up.
Sounds like in this situation the auctioneer knew the truck was going to bring over $20k (and he was right BTW) and didn't want to mess around all day. Good for him.
Did I mention I hate slow sales?
I get really tickled looking at the bid history on purplewave. A $50,000 piece of equipment for sale and some bigshots are bidding $100 to start, and the next guy bids $200! Then maybe $1000.........etc.
