| The $180 was for the long reach hoe. But the prevailing wage rate law and how it applies to us low budget entities is a problem plus I am sure it does not help with the financial problems the state of Illinois faces as well..
I am sure some try to charge the prevailing wage rate and pocket the difference. But I know most of our operators and they are well aware of the rate they should earn on these jobs. The only way around the problem is to use single owner operators that will work for only a slight amount above the prevailing wage rate. But our problem is we require a long reach hoe to work on over half of our ditch and individual operators do not own those in this area.
