Subject: Re: MX Magnum working RPM?

Morris, IL
Red mechanic told me lug to 1700 or so on newer magnum, i know the auto shift function set from the factory won't shift till 16XX. In our MX285 (which still has CAPS pump) i set constant speed at 1850 and leave it there year round. On the road any faster and it starts bouncing, in the field any fast and your burning extra fuel. Thats what i've been told. A bosch pump is what they put on older magnums right? We lug CIH 8940 to 2200 or so but i've heard of guys lugging it down to 1700 for thousands of hours with no trouble.
