North Central Ohio, across the Corn belt !

gotdew - 2/3/2012 10:20 John thanks for the great info. and here are some of the numbers from one field. Soil ph 7.5 Soil salts mmho/cm .26 OM 1.8 Nitrate-Nitrogen 8 ppm 14 lb. Phosphorus ppm P 15. Potassium ppm K 185. Sulfur ppm 6 lb. 11. Calcium ppm Ca 2149. Magnesium ppm Mg. 236. Sodium ppm 41. Zinc ppm 4.2. Iron ppm 27. Manganese ppm 12. Copper ppm .9. the recommendations i was given for this field was 1 ton of gypsum per acre 70 units of N 75 units of P 60 units of K and 48 units of S to raise 6 ton alfalfa.

I assume the persons recommending Gypsum are using some misguided PH Mythology to determine basic and fundamental soil Chemistry adjustments = ing a desired PH number out of their play book manual  ?

ask them and see what they say gotdew.

I would like to Know from them

or have them call Me
