Subject: Re: Old diesel in tank - want to change to gasoline

North Central, NC
I personally would use the fuel. Had a similar issue with some of the tanks I had left when my dad died. Had 6 500 gal tanks half full that were used for the oil burners in our bulk barns. We hadnt raised tobacco since 2004 and I burnt all the fuel with no issues. Put a water block filter on and changed the fuel filters on my tractors. Also used some cetane booster. Not sure if it helped or not but ive had no trouble with any of the "Deere's".
As far as using it for a gas tank. I actually had one tank that we used for gas that i had recently filled with diesel. Had maybe only a gal or so after i drained it and no prob yet, but gas to diesel may be more forgiving than going from diesel to gas.
