Foliardud - 2/3/2012 00:59 ...OPTIMUM LEVELS 3000-4000 pounds per acre Ca: CALCIUM (2000-4000 pounds per acre)
What is the reason for the difference in these two sets of numbers above?
Calcium should be a 7:1 ratio with magnesium. If the ratio is less than 4:1 it indicates a biologically deficient soil unless in a high magnesium area.
What soil test numbers qualify as acceptable within the 7:1 ratio? If a soil test shows 3,789 lb Ca and 541.3 lbs Mg, is that the optimal ratio, or should it be 3,153 lbs Ca : 450.4 lbs Mg? Is 1 lb Ca : 0.14 lbs Mg equally ok? |
