| Some MLV vacccines are labelled to give to a pregnant/nursing cow IF (and only if) she has been vaccinated within the previous year.
Same goes for calves nursing pregnant cows. If the cow is not current on her vaccinations, do not give MLV to a nursing calf or the cow could abort the calf she is carrying.
If you are unsure about vaccination history, use killed vaccines.
IMO, MLV vaccines offer the best bang for the buck, but they must initially be given when the cow is open.
