Raising more than 150 bu/acre is a good place to start. On good ground around here most would consider 150 bu corn to dang near be crop failure. Feed your crops to livestock and use the manure to knock $50+ off of the fertilizer bill. No matter how you want to figure it the income the land produces adds to the balance sheet, the guys that own their land won't quit raising corn because corn is under YOUR cost of production. |
