Central Iowa | You are right that any extra acres regardless of yield will add to the total bushels. However they are projecting 94-95 million acres with trendline yields that are assumed on "normal" corn acres. I have no opinion either way but using the same trend yield with 95 million acres as with 90 million acres simply is not logical. And right now 2012 production is simply a projection that at this time is dictating the market.
