Agree that 70 is way too warm for me, I keep mine at 50-55, unless painting or some other project that needs a higher temperature. The overhead infrared heat will only warm the floor if nothing else is in the was. Have hot water floor heat under tile floors in the house, and do like the feel on the feet. A programable stat is certainly a good option, if one knows ahead of time when it needs to warmed up, never seems to work out that well for me.
