From what I've seen it's the issue with dragging seed or if they get bent I've seen them flip seed out of the furrow. Guys with cloddy fields from say manure application can benefit from tucking the seed in better, otherwise it's a personal choice if you want them. I don't care to have them dragging in the row. Totally tubular system wont do that.
