My guess is that you do not have any close beacon stations. My experience is that at 100 miles or less, beacon correction is better than WAAS. I have not tried WAAS lately, but years ago I thought that the "equal" point was about 300 miles. In addition, some receivers simply are not good beacon receivers. Trimble units seem to do really good with beacon correction.
