The last I heard, Pioneer and Monsanto each had roughly 30% of the corn market, but that isn't the whole story. So many licensing agreements make it hard to tell who really controls what anymore. I think market share is generally measured by whose name is on the bag of seed, and that's where the 30% figure came from.
