You don't know what you are talking about. The only place retreaded tires are not allowed is on the from axle of a passenger bus. They are, however, allowed on the front axle of a jetliner. Now figure that out.
I just thought that I would also note that your statement I have highlighted above is reflective of your limited knowledge of the subject at hand.
The real issue here is your frequently arrogant attitude that you so proudly display in your postings. It gets very tiresome to "read" your attitude when you are being rude and inconsiderate of other posters.
You have a lot of positives that you can offer to others, but the negatives that are so often associated with you, Plowboy, are related to your attitude toward others. I think you need a recap tire to kick before you get to the computer each night. Maybe one on the steering axle!
My statement that recaps are illegal on steers is based on years of relying on various carriers warnings of the liabilities suffered when operating within some jurisdications. My position is that if they are illegal anywhere in the system, they are illegal. I have been told they are illegal in Michigan too, but whether that is correct or not, I won't be testing the law for myself.
