Ft. Wayne | With gross income on corn possibly over $1500, and beans possibly over $800, i don't think too many are happy with $20 profit. Yes, some of the larger (is 5000 acres still large? lol) farms are making big profits. But in this environment a smaller (500 acres) farm with little or no debt can make big profits too. It would be very interesting to see some of the top NET$/acre some guys (farms) hit in 2011. Somebody out there hit a homerun on both yield and price, what was the NET?
To answer your question, I could be happy with $200/acre right now.
If you got 5000 acres and only netting $100K i think you are in big trouble when (or IF) the big "correction" comes. | |
