| Have steel bins, steel trays, and plactic bins and trays. Prefer the steel bins and trays in the shop, plastic trays in the service truck (close the door and they can not open). Plastic bins on racks can easily be overloaded, and break. One good thing about the plastic bins on a rack is that it's easy to spec different size bins, move them around, and use them for other items. Plastic can also be color coded. As others have said, something is better than nothing. Still are using wooden bins that have to be at least 50 years old.
