itchy, listen to von greyerts interview at King World, ( Jim feels the same way) He is saying a hyper-inflation accompanied with contracting business conditions thus if your cash flow isn't there you won't be able to service all of that debt you have and guess who ends up with it then. That is why JS says get debt free.

It is possible to have a very good crop in a hyper-inflation with no one to sell and or a shrinking demand base thus unable to meet current cash flow needs. We didn't have a hyper-inflation in the great depression but prices were so cheap that it was more cost effective to dump them than to take to market.

Jim says to protect yourself against this and those debt free for the most part will be able to weather the storm much longer than those that have a large debt load.
