| That is correct for most local electrical codes. The plasma .....like many other inductive loads....will draw a varying amount of current depending on how it is being used. The poster asked if he could get away with a 50 amp circuit breaker....and the answer is yes. However....to draw the full output cutting potential from this plasma system....it should be connected to a circuit that is adequately sized, based on local electical wiring codes....for a maximum draw of 44 amps....as stated in the operators manul for the system.

Good info. I had looked on the specs, but the differnece between what you should have, actually have, and can sneak by with can be a bit of a question. I should ask my electrician to be sure, but I was thinking a breaker should be 20% over max draw. |
