Buy some I beams and channel iron. Then, start in cutting and welding and drilling holes. An electric motor and pump is far superior to a hand pump. A steering valve makes a good control for a press.
If you are not inclined to do that, craigslist is a place to look.
Now, if I wouldn't spend days making more dies to bend steel in my press.
