Subject: RE: Wil-rich 2500

central - east central Minnesota -

cornnbeans - 12/4/2011 13:18 Looking at a 24' WilRich 2500 field cultivator with 3 bar Wilrich coiltine harrow on back. What is good and bad with this cultivator? I know its not a DMI or Sunflower but looking for a second cultivator and dealer has one that appears straight and clean. How does it compare to a CaseIH 4300 which is what we run now? Looking for opinions and good and bad points.

If it is the older 2500 series . . . . . there is no comparison to the newer CIH 4300 series.
Look at it, what does it have, 3 rows of shanks, that are compact ? The 4300 has 5 rows ?
It will not be good in heavy residue, it will not follow the ground like the newer mfg's fieldcults . . .
Overall, they were very good tillage tools - for their time.
If you are working on flat, level bare (little residue) ground and cheap enough, it'd be good.
