Several years ago I did some research at the library (before the internet) about bending wood, All I remember is that one of the ways to do it was to immerse it in anhydrous, they showed a vessel that was sealed that the wood was placed in and then it was filled with the anhydrous and allowed to soak, as I remember it was not a very long time and then it showed the anhydrous being bled off into a well, I remember the book showing a 2X4 that was tied in a knot after being saturated with the anhydrous, Sorry I can't give any definite details.
