Subject: Re: Guar

Lubbock, Texas
guar has slight shatter problems.....I know some people that did research on it for a while......there was also a "co-op" type scam in Brownfield, Texas that got up and running, put the fancy awning with their name on it outside the building (almost all with gov money I believe) and then basically proceeded to spend the rest of the money on their "partners" as administrators of their "co-op".......so basically the took gov money to pay themselves to go around and try and convince themselves and others to grow guar

it is like any other secondary or tertiary crop with only one sales outlet.......get ready for poor grades and low prices when the crops come off!

(edited from major to slight shatter problems depending on harvest methods)

also will add guar seems like it would be great out here, but it never catches on just like several other similar crops and I think it is the market aspect of it......big promises and lesser yields and lesser yet prices = back to the old standby crops
