Subject: CWB is a bit more than a price taker

Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

In the recent past, one of the biggest foes of the CWB has been the North Dakota Wheat Commission. They had a problem with them, not because they were a price taker, but because they are a CLOSED single desk seller. Seems like the NDWC always had them in court and even got a 50 cent / bu. import tariff levied on them, as retaliation for selling into the US below the market. In this case, I think it would be very unwise to assume that the price the CWB negotiated was less than they paid to the producers.
I think I have you pegged as a guy who believes in an absolutely unfettered free market. How do you reconcile this? Would eliminating the CWB benefit you, as a US wheat producer?
